Take Back The Tech! starts today on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

In 1993, violence against women was formally recognised by countries all over the world as a violation of human rights, through the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women by the United Nations General Assembly.

La violencia contra las mujeres viola nuestros derechos más fundamentales. Muestra la realidad de la violencia contra la mujer allí donde estás y conéctala con la necesidad de Dominar la Tecnología.

     

El ultimo día de Dominemos la Tecnología cae en el Día Internacional de los Derechos Humanos. Esto nos sirve para recordar que las muchas formas que adopta la violencia contra la mujer violan nuestros derechos más fundamentales. 

En 1993 las naciones Unidas reconocieron a la violencia contra la mujer como un tema crítico dentro de los derechos humanos que llama al compromiso e intervención del estado – hace sólo 16 años.  

¿Cuánto hemos avanzado en la lucha por acabar con la violencia contra la mujer?

 Le dernier jour de la campagne Réapproprie-toi la Technologie ! tombe sur la Journée des droits de l’Homme. C’est un important rappel que les nombreuses formes de violence à l’égard des femmes violent nos droits les plus fondamentaux. Les droits de la communication – y compris l’accès à l’information, le droit à la vie privé, la liberté d’expression et d’opinion et le droit à former des communautés – sont fondamentaux dans les initiatives visant régler le problème de la violence à l’égard des femmes. 

       

 Le dernier jour de la campagne Réapproprie-toi la Technologie ! tombe sur la Journée des droits de l’Homme. C’est un important rappel que les nombreuses formes de violence à l’égard des femmes violent nos droits les plus fondamentaux. 

En 1993, les Nations Unies on reconnu la violence à l’égard des femmes comme une question de droits humains fondamentaux qui exige l’engagement des Etats et leur intervention – il y a tout juste 16 ans.

Violence against women violates our most fundamental human rights. Join the dots between violence against women and information and communication technologies as human rights issues. Grow the story with images that speaks about your context, ground them with your narratives or create your own story! 

 

The last day of Take Back The Tech! falls on International Human Rights Day. This acts as an important reminder that the many forms of violence against women violate our most fundamental human rights.

In 1993 the United Nations recognised violence against women as a critical human rights issue that compels State commitment and intervention - only 16 years ago.
