Institut Pelangi Perempuan

IPP (Institut Pelangi Perempuan) is Indonesian Young Queer Women Organization. IPP uses strategy called EDUFUNTAINMENT (Education, Fun and Entertainment) as the tool for promoting and struggling for LGBTIQ rights. Creating youth friendly safe and informal space such as dance, sport and operetta club for young queer women are some of the activities which were provided by IPP for organizing and mobilizing the community. Publication such as CD magazines, comic and books are the education media for our community.

Our vision is for the women of Fiji to be free from all forms of discrimination, have equal access to opportunities and to live in a healthy environment where the principles of feminism, democracy, good governance, multiculturalism and human rights prevail.

Bytes for All, Pakistan

Bytes for All (B4A), Pakistan is a human rights organization and a network of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) professionals and practitioners. It experiments and organizes debate on the relevance of ICTs for sustainable development and strengthening human rights movements in the country. At the forefront of Internet Rights movement and struggle for the democracy, B4A focuses on capacity building of human rights defenders on their digital security, online safety & privacy.

Women and Media Collective

Women and Media Collective (WMC) was formed in 1984 and is in its 27th year. The organization is based in Colombo, Sri Lanka but works in almost all provinces of the country.

WMC possesses a strong network of institutional links at local, national and international level and undertakes much of its work through close collaboration with these institutions and groups. Networking has been identified as a strategic approach in fulfilling its programme objectives.

Since its formation in 1987, FMA has sought to enhance the popularization of development-oriented issues and campaigns through media-related interventions, social communications projects, and cultural work.

Areas of Work As a civil society group, CIJ actively advocates for broader space for expression and views and openness of information in Malaysia. We constantly give a perspective to issues in regards to freedom of expression, media freedom and ethical journalism through press statements, articles, and an annual review on the Malaysian situation.

16 Impacts of Sexual Assault

One in five Australian women will be the victim of sexual assault in their lifetime. In 2010, I became one of those women. It has devastated me and changed my life in ways I could never have understood before it happened to me. The realities of being a victim of violent crime are so little understood, and victims are given so little space to articulate their experience. The media, the law-enforcement and justice systems and most people see the crime but not the impact.

Prajnya

Between November 25 and December 10, in partnership with other Chennai civil society organizations, Prajnya organizes and coordinates events and activities at venues across the city in order to raise awareness of the different ways in which women in particular are vulnerable to violence, from their homes to zones of conflict.  Campaign Chronicles is the 16 Day blog which spotlights activitities. This is the second year that Prajnya has organized the 16 Days Campaign in Chennai.
